I signed a HOME WARRANTY CONTRACT with AHS to cover a home my wife and I own in Sarasota, Florida. This policy covers the AC system and all the appliances in the house. When we bought the house, we had the AC system checked by a specialized company and we have been told that this system was quite old but still working. Honestly, I told the AHS representative that the AC system was very old but in working condition, asking them if they would cover it anyway in their guarantee. The answer was: "As long as your AC system is working properly when you subscribe the policy, it will be covered". Since then, they provided service for the AC system several times and we recently renewed the Contract with AHS for an additional year. Last week, the system broke and, this time, needed to be replaced by a new one. AHS refused to pay for the repair or the replacement arguing the "lack of maintenance" clause in their contract, which is totally untrue. We had to replace the system and we paid $4,229.00 NO WONDER THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU PROCESSED 2263 COMPLAINTS AGAINST THIS COMPANY IN THE LAST 36 MONTHS!
