Allstate was hired to move me from Centerport to Seaford, New York. I was told they would arrive between 1-3pm on the day of the move, and the estimate was given as appox:$600 and 5-6 hours. I was told the day before that they might be a little late(approx:5pm) for the day of the move. The movers showed up at 11pm at night! The three moving men were exhausted as they had just worked 12 hours straight. It took them 11 hours to pack the truck, drive 1 hour to new location, and unload. The move cost $1471.00(plus tip for the 3 movers). Some of my furniture had to be left behind at my old house because they didn't have room for it(table/chairs,futon,dresser). I had to miss work, because I had been up 26 hours straight at that point. Rooms in my new house were not set up properly. One piece on art was broken. Several calls were made to the company about the lateness and poor service. People on the phone were rude and unreceptive. They were willing to go get my furniture left behind, but only at additional cost! They were not willing to give me any kind of discount for any of my inconviences. I hope no one else has to deal with this company.
