I dealt with Darryl Johnson of American Alarm Company. Initially comes off as a pleasant guy. After the purchase however, it's a whole different ballgame. I purchased many items with his company and spent over $10k. The workers that he had do the work were incompetant to complete the tasks at hand. Still having problems with what was installed. I will be heading over to the Registrar of Contractor office tomorrow to file a formal complaint. When the work was performed at my residence over a year ago, American Alarm Company was NOT licensed, which is a criminal offense and punished to the full extent. If you have been "wronged" by this company, make sure to file a complaint. I am very disappointed in the "empty promises" and poor service. I have given enough chances. American Alarm company will say and promise the world to you just to get the sale, then not follow through completely with quality work. I see that Darryl responded to another complaint by saying that you can't please everyone. That is true is most cases although I'm here to tell you that the complaint is very similar to mine. That is really what prompted me to post a complaint myself. I wish I could express in great detail what a con Darryl really is. I have 4-5 others that I referred to this company early on......the result in each and every case was either....1. Tried to charge me more while the job was being completed 2. The job took over 6 months to complete 3. Empty promises 4. Terrible workmanship. The list goes on. References available on request.
