In March of 2007, we enterered into a contract to purchase a specific female Sphynx kitten from Michele Pritchard of AAA Diamond Sphynx Cattery in Pennsylvania. We also paid a deposit of $500.00 in March for this specific kitten. She had sent photos of the kitten and a confirmation that our deposit had been received. In mid-April she emailed us that a relative of hers had passed away and this had affected her communication with purchasers. She also sent a new cell phone number since we had not been able to contact her using the phone number provided on her web site. When began trying to contact her using the new number; she did not answer and we were never able to leave a message. She did not respond to our emails. We received a phone call from her the last week of May and ended our conversation agreeing that we would call her the next week to arrange a shipping date and the final payment for the kitten. Again, she could not be reached by phone and did not respond to emails.
On June 12th I finally emailed requesting a refund of our $500.00 deposit. We received an email June 30th stating,
"...unfortunately your kitten was sold to the wrong person...I do feel bad but I can't change the events that happened..." She included a photo of another kitten that looked nothing like the one we contracted to buy and suggested that we purchase it or wait for another litter.
WE ARE FRUSTRATED AND WE DO NOT TRUST HER. PEOPLE LIKE THIS GIVE BREEDERS A BAD NAME. WE WANT OUR $500.00 REFUNDED NOW.
