I hired Nationwide Moving and Storage to move me. They sold me to the lowest bidder which was Able Moving Inc our of Chicago,IL. We packed our goods ourselve with UHAUL purchased boxes. Price was to include assembling, loading and disassembling. Able Moving disassembled my end tables with glass tops. They asked if they could use my UHAL boxes to put the tops in. Then they asked if we had anything to throw in the box to cushion it. We gave them a few coats and shirts from the closet to put around the items. I also had a picture that was too big for the mirror box I had purchased and it protruded from the box. We had planned to put it into the car but I asked if it would be able to be moved safely in the truck. They said sure,,they could put shrink wrap around it. Later I found out that they had added an extra $225 to my charges for packing a mirror box and a wardrobe closet. They brought no materials into the house for packing. It was their call to put my table pieces into a box and it was my understanding that it was disassembling furniture. Also the estimated weigt quote was over by 1400 lbs even though we ended up leaving behind items that we estimated that were quite heavy like an executive desk a washer and dryer, a queen size mattress/boxspring and a steel shelving unit. Nationwide states that I signed paperwork for the packing materials. The driver filled it out with a felt tip pen and my copy was not only sketchy but there was nothing in there at time of signing or on my copy for packing materials. At this point Nationwide is not backing me up or trying to resolve the issue. They insist that it is all on Able Moving Inc and they have signed paperwork for the packing materials. Nationwide was full of misleading promises when they wanted my business but won't talk to me today. I do not have a definite delivery date either as of yet. They have said it will be Thurs or Fri this week.
